What can I say?
The man has affected my life in a way I never thought a celebrity can. I had told my story to countless forum members of his band and yet I am stymied in proclaiming my support to the man. Why? Well...There are several reasons.
I have been known to be a bandwagon fan. I have a long history of it, and I readily own up to it. It's the truth. I was a New England Patriot fan before I became a Giants fan. I was watching Chicago Bulls back in high school before I followed the Nets, now I don't watch basketball no more. Baseball never fascinated me (I still think it's a boring game) and yet when I found out it's the last year the Mets and the Yankees are playing at their home stadiums I bought tickets and soon had gone to 4 major league games, 2 minor league games and still waiting for tickets I bought for the Yankees in September.
So imagine my trepidation with the thought that this might just be a phase. I sure hope not. I am assuaged by that fact that I do have two lasting relationships to balance my crummy score sheet: with my husband whom I have been with for almost 8 years and with Sting for about 20 years (the latter is wholly one sided on my part). I labeled myself a Sting_fan.
And so I will be accused of being a copycat, but so be it. I will give credit to whom credit is due, and I will give it to three people. Garret, whose ability to narrate his jaunts to the different parts of the world planted the seed that would soon be the birth of this blog; to Vagabond, whose insightful observations were to be the fertile loam where the seed grew roots and lastly to Knellsky, whose inspiring story and humble air became the catalyst to what is now lithium shore.
