My Take on Selfies

Selfies by definition is a photograph taken by the photographer of himself. It is a modern phenomenon (as a billion photographs are taken every minute) brought about by this thing called camera phones. It is fueled by the instantaneous publication of these photographs in the Internet by sites like Facebook and Instagram.
It is ubiquitous. I cannot scroll down my wall without seeing these photos.
Validation probably motivates many to posts these photos of themselves as it is very easy to click the like button for a photo.
But like cake and fine wine, too much of it is never good for the consumer. And people who posts these photos forget that the viewers of these photos they post on their wall are THE consumers.
I am often tempted to unfriend a few people because they are so so guilty of self promotion, it's annoying.
Can we put a quota on Selfies to one a month? And if you have to post it, can you exclude me?
I hope this gets circulated and help some poor soul get off that Selfies hamster wheel.
