Peace

I went to the chapel at work today. It's a very small non-denominational chapel. It could probably seat no more than a dozen people comfortably. It's ash Wednesday and many are coming to get their ash on their forehead as many Catholics do at this time of the year. After getting my ash on my forehead, I sat on an empty seat at the back row and tried to find some quiet time to commune with God. At the front of the chapel I saw a familiar face: a doctor whom I have worked with many times. At one point he was my patient. Unlike many doctors at the hospital, he is down to earth, easy to work with, humble and always smiling. He was kneeling on a mat and bowing in a prayerful posture. I can only assume he is a Muslim. I got a sense of peace. Being in a one place where I communed with my Lord and a friend communed with his Allah gave me peace.
